Master Technician + HVAC Apprenticeship Coordinator

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Master Technician and HVAC Apprenticeship Coordinator. In this role, you will be working with the Division Manager and will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the HVAC apprenticeship program within our organization. You will work closely with apprentices in the field and with management to ensure the successful development and implementation of the program and skills of the technicians in the program.

Compensation + Benefits

  • $50 to $55 an hour
  • Vehicle, Gas Card, Full Family Health Insurance, and  Dental and Vision; 401k match up to 7%

Responsibilities:

1. Master Technician

  • Responsible for service work and PM for major clients
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and solving complex problems on all systems within the portfolio of business.
  • Will take the lead on service requests for major clients and complex systems
  • Work with apprentice and journeyman technicians to teach them skills identified in their work plan through on the job instruction.

2. Apprenticeship Program Management:

  • Work with Division Manager to develop and maintain the HVAC apprenticeship program in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish program goals, objectives, and curriculum.
  • Work with Division Operations on apprenticeship schedules, rotations, and assignments to ensure a well-rounded learning experience.
  • Work with the Division Manager to monitor apprentices' progress and provide guidance and support throughout the program.
  • Work with the Division Manager to conduct regular evaluations and assessments to ensure apprentices meet program requirements and competencies.

3. Recruitment and Selection:

  • Assist in the recruitment and selection process for HVAC apprentices, including job postings, application reviews, and interviews.
  • Collaborate with human resources to ensure compliance with recruitment policies and procedures.
  • Identify potential candidates and promote the HVAC apprenticeship program to attract qualified individuals.
  • Work with Division Manager to conduct orientation sessions for selected apprentices, providing an overview of program expectations and guidelines.

4. Mentorship and Training:

  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance apprentices' technical skills and knowledge.

5. Program Administration:

  • Work with Division Manager and HR to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of apprentices' progress, evaluations, and attendance.
  • Work with Division Manager to prepare reports and presentations on program performance, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Work with Division Manager to collaborate with the finance department to manage program budgets, expenses, and funding sources.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, changes in regulations, and emerging technologies to ensure program relevancy and effectiveness.

6. Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure that the HVAC apprenticeship program adheres to all relevant safety guidelines, regulations, and standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of apprentices' work areas for improvement relative to craftmanship.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and responsibility among apprentices and journeymen.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in HVAC or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, or repair work.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Previous experience coordinating apprenticeships or training programs is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with apprentices, mentors, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in using computer software and applications relevant to program management and administration.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance with industry regulations.
  • OSHA30 Safety training
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive and problem-solving attitude.
